1. Company Overview

Mathmo is an education company focused on helping UK students improve their GCSE Mathematics performance through structured, high-impact learning strategies.

Mathmo is founded by Rob Carter, a Cambridge-educated maths specialist with 16 years of one-to-one coaching experience.

Mathmo provides digital educational services, including subscription-based learning (Mathmo Premium), standalone digital courses, webinars, and free educational content.

Mathmo is designed for students who may be short on time, lack confidence in maths, or feel overwhelmed by traditional learning methods. The service focuses on high-impact strategies, exam technique, and efficient learning designed to improve confidence and performance.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or purchasing any Mathmo service (including subscriptions, courses, or free webinars), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained consent from a parent or legal guardian.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use Mathmo's services.

3. Services Provided

Mathmo provides digital educational services designed to support GCSE Mathematics learning and exam preparation.

Mathmo operates a structured learning ecosystem which includes both subscription-based access and standalone digital products.

3.1 Mathmo Premium (Core Subscription Service)

Mathmo Premium is the primary subscription service and includes access to a bundled learning system consisting of:

  • 7-day free trial (where applicable, no upfront charge during trial)
  • 60-minute live webinars
  • Live Q&A sessions during webinars
  • Ability to choose an appropriate learning level
  • 1:1 onboarding call for setup and guidance
  • Webinar replays (where available, may be time-limited)
  • Exclusive bonus webinars during half-terms and holidays
  • Full access to the GCSE Video Vault (see 3.2)

Mathmo Premium is designed as an integrated, all-in-one learning ecosystem.

3.2 GCSE Video Vault (Included Within Premium + Standalone Product)

The GCSE Video Vault is a structured library of short, bite-sized educational videos covering the GCSE Maths syllabus.

It includes:

  • Full GCSE Maths syllabus coverage
  • Exam technique training
  • Revision strategies
  • Calculator methods
  • Practice question walkthroughs

The GCSE Video Vault is included within Mathmo Premium and is also available as a standalone digital product purchase.

When accessed via Premium, it forms part of the subscription ecosystem. When purchased separately, it is delivered as an independent one-time purchase.

3.3 Live and Recorded Webinars (Included Within Premium)

Mathmo delivers live 60-minute webinars and may provide recorded replays where available.

Webinars may include:

  • Teaching and walkthroughs
  • Exam technique strategies
  • Live Q&A sessions

Webinars are included within Mathmo Premium and are not standalone subscription products.

Replay availability is not guaranteed and may be time-limited.

3.4 Calculator Hacks (Standalone + Premium Included Content)

Mathmo offers a digital course titled Calculator Hacks, which may be purchased as a standalone product or accessed as part of Mathmo Premium.

When purchased standalone:

  • Access is granted immediately upon purchase
  • It is considered an instant-access digital product

When accessed via Mathmo Premium:

  • It is included as part of the broader subscription ecosystem 

3.5 Free Educational Webinars (Non-Premium Content)

Mathmo may offer free educational webinars for parents and students.

These are provided for informational and educational purposes only and are separate from Mathmo Premium.

3.6 Service Updates

We reserve the right to:

  • Update or modify content
  • Change structure or delivery methods
  • Adjust webinar scheduling or duration
  • Improve or expand learning resources

All updates are made to improve educational outcomes.

4. Mathmo Premium Billing & Subscription

Mathmo Premium is a recurring subscription service billed monthly.

  • Subscription fees are charged automatically on a recurring monthly cycle unless cancelled
  • By subscribing, users authorise recurring payments until cancellation is completed
  • Access is provided only while the subscription remains active

4.1 Payment Responsibility

The account holder (or parent/guardian, where applicable) is responsible for ensuring:

  • Payment methods are valid and authorised
  • Sufficient funds are available
  • Account details are kept up to date

Mathmo is not responsible for failed payments due to insufficient funds, expired cards, or incorrect payment details.

4.2 Cancellation & Failed Payments

Users are responsible for cancelling before their next billing date to avoid further charges.

Cancellation can be completed through account settings or by contacting support.

Access continues until the end of the current billing period after cancellation.

If a payment fails (including insufficient funds, expired card, or payment rejection), the system will attempt to reprocess the payment.

If payment remains unsuccessful after multiple attempts, Mathmo may:

  • Suspend access to Mathmo Premium
  • Cancel or revoke subscription access until payment is successfully resolved

Mathmo is not responsible for service interruption caused by failed payments.

4.3 Trial Period (Mathmo Premium Only)

Where offered, the 7-day trial applies only to Mathmo Premium.

  • Trial lasts 7 days from sign-up
  • No payment is taken during the trial unless otherwise stated
  • Unless cancelled before the trial ends, it converts into a paid subscription

4.4 Subscription Pausing Policy

Users may request to pause their subscription.

When paused:

  • Access to Premium is temporarily suspended
  • No charges occur during the pause
  • Users retain their original subscription price upon return

Mathmo reserves the right to approve or decline pause requests.

5. Calculator Hacks Course (Standalone Product)

Mathmo offers a digital course titled Calculator Hacks.

5.1 Access

Access is granted immediately upon purchase and is considered delivered at the point of sale.

5.2 Content

Approximately 90 minutes of video content covering calculator-based GCSE Maths techniques.

5.3 Calculator Recommendation

Casio FX-991CW+ is recommended. This may be updated over time.

5.4 Suitability

Suitable for both Foundation and Higher GCSE Maths.

5.5 No Guarantees

We do not guarantee:

  • Grade improvements
  • Exam results
  • Academic outcomes

5.6 Refund Policy

Due to instant digital access:

  • Refunds may be restricted after access is granted
  • Refund terms may vary depending on the purchase page
  • We reserve the right to refuse refunds once full access is delivered

  • Informational and strategy-based
  • Student attendance optional
  • Includes exam strategies, motivation techniques, and support guidance

7. Curriculum & Learning Approach

Mathmo Premium uses an adaptive learning approach designed to support a wide range of learners.

7.1 Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Mathmo may support students with diverse learning needs through structured teaching methods, including:

  • Dyslexia: structured breakdown techniques
  • Dyscalculia: calculator-based strategies
  • ADHD: short-form focused lessons
  • Autism spectrum conditions: structured step-by-step explanations
  • Extra time students: exam efficiency strategies

Mathmo is not a diagnostic or clinical service.

7.2 Exam Boards Covered

Mathmo content applies across:

  • Edexcel
  • AQA
  • OCR
  • WJEC (where applicable)

Techniques are transferable across exam boards.

7.3 Teaching Approach

Mathmo may rotate exam boards and topics across webinars and content delivery.

Students are encouraged to apply techniques flexibly across their own specification.

7.4 Curriculum Structure

There is no fixed weekly syllabus. Content may vary based on:

  • Student needs
  • High-impact topics
  • Exam preparation priorities

8. Payments & Billing

  • Payments are processed securely via third-party providers
  • Mathmo does not store full card details
  • Prices are clearly shown before purchase

9. Refund Policy (General)

Refund eligibility depends on product type:

  • Premium: may include a 30-day money-back guarantee, where stated
  • Digital products: may be restricted due to instant access
  • Free webinars: non-refundable

Refunds are assessed based on usage and access.

10. Content Licence

All content is for personal educational use only.

Users must not:

  • Share accounts
  • Copy or distribute content
  • Resell materials
  • Use content commercially

11. Acceptable Use

Users must not:

  • Misuse the platform
  • Share login details
  • Disrupt live sessions
  • Copy or redistribute content

We may suspend accounts for violations.

12. Account Security 

Users are responsible for account security.

We are not responsible for unauthorised access caused by user negligence.

13. Service Availability

We aim to provide continuous access but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.

Downtime may occur due to maintenance or updates.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if:

  • Terms are violated
  • Fraud or abuse is detected
  • Misuse occurs

15. Limitation of Liability

Mathmo is an educational service only.

We are not responsible for:

  • Exam results
  • Academic outcomes
  • Indirect or consequential losses

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
